Personal Ethics Reflection
by
When discussing my personal ethics in class, to summarize, I explained that I mostly act based on how I was raised. Since I was raised in an all-female household (other than myself of course) and grew up Catholic (no longer the case) I strive to view ethical scenarios from points of view other than my own, and I believe in trying to do what is best for both you and your neighbor.
One of the takeaways I got from the class discussion is that a lot of people are very aware how much they value themselves and are willing to admit that a lot of the times they will put their own needs above others. I’m the same obviously, if helping someone else out will inconvenience me too much I will also put myself first, I just always thought people might be a bit embarrassed to admit that to a public audience.
